Anti-JW billboard going up in Texas
by sunny23 inthe first ever billboard has been crowd funded on reddit and will be going up.
i'm curious to know if it will cause a spark in any jw's who already have questions or doubts and lead them to research into the child abuse cases and lead them to the thought that the wt and gb are not inspired or gods mouthpiece.
at the very least it will provide people a topic of conversation and questions to the jw's who knock on their door: "so whats this whole sex abuse in kingdom halls thing about i saw on the billboard down the road?

Might the Watchtower have something to do with the misdirection of the url? -

Hopefully you should have some apostate literature and give it to any JW you happen to run in. It could be a small leaflet with this website on it. -

I admire the attitude of those who want to set up billboards but I agree with Simon about its being not cost effective especially at $3,200. That money could be better spent on thousands of leaflets that are addressed to the public at large, not JWs. Something along the lines of "The pedophile at your door".
If something like that were to be done it should be set up in a major urban area where a lot of people should see it. Also fixing any mistakes on it, like the URL which has issues, would also be expensive unless it's an internet problem. That is definitely a turn off for the people watching it.
By the way, there is no question mark on the Spanish version at the bottom.

Having a hard time holding my tongue...
by problemaddict 2 in...recently.. i'm normally pretty calculated.
my fade is done, my wife is out, my family and friends know, i maintain quite abit of the friendships of those closest to me jw or not, my family isn't shunning, and the few people we have kept it from for other reasons we are calculating how to break it.
(elderly matriarch that we are simply not going to tell so she doesn't die).. but.....all these facebook meme's and stupid feeds about reliance on jehovah, distraction, staying close to his organization, persevering against satan.....its driving me nuts.

Elder/ette: Hi! Long time no see. what have you been up to lately?
problemaddict 2: I've been researching your religion. I found out that most of its teachings are false.
Elder/ette: Do you still believe that the Organization is God's sole channel of communication?
problemaddict 2: Absolutely not! They are Pharisees forcing a heavy burden upon their followers. They are also false prophets changing their teachings all the time.
Elder/ette: The sound of a whoosh and a loud boom when elder/ette breaks the sound barrier getting away from you.

Witnesses Preach to Dog
by snugglebunny in"in el salvador, one man tied his vicious dog in front of the door whenever he saw jehovahs witnesses nearby.
the man would wait for the witnesses to move on, and then he would bring the dog back into the house.
the brothers were never able to speak to the man.

How Come the Watchtower does not admit "We Don't Know Anything About Bible Prophecy" and come clean?
by PokerPlayerPhil inso many of us have been caught up in the negative effects this religion placed over our lives and those who we love very much.
i am the first one to tell my kids "i don't know s&^^ about this or that subject", if the watchtower is truly our brother or spiritual mother why don't they tell us the following questions we all have asked them?.
1. we screwed up about 1914 and "life is short, go live your life to the fullest while maintaining justice and morality, don't hurt your fellow man by making his life screwed up!.

why did man go from living 900 years to 90?
by sowhatnow ini cant recall the scripture, where it says than only a few men will he live to be 80 years or so, can anyone recall that?.
so then im wondering, if it is a fact that men lived long years 900 in some cases, for what reason would god limit our lifespan if our time is so short compared to his?.
how on earth does man go from living 8 and 9 hundred years down to 80 to 100 ?.

A water 'canopy' of any significance would cause a runaway green house effect turning this planet into a Venus like world. Water vapor has 100 times the heat retaining ability as Carbon Dioxide. -

Daniel, their giving each other gifts on days other than their birthdays isn't really a measurement of their devotion. The fact that they haven't invited you over to dinner and gotten to know you is a measure of their devotion to the religion.
Don't do it my friend, even half-hearted JWs are grief.

The Watchtower is unique in its interpretation of the resurrection and, of course, at odds with the Bible's statements.
The Bible clearly states that there will be a resurrection of the righteous and the wicked; the first group to eternal life in Heaven/Paradise and the second to a literal hell of torments. This scripture makes it clears:
"I believe everything that is in accordance with the Law and that is written in the Prophets, 15 and I have the same hope in God as these men themselves have, that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked." Acts 24:14b-15 New International Version
They claim that the "unrighteous" (As translated in the New World Translation instead of wicked) simply refers to most of those who died without knowing the 'truth' with the most evil among them being excluded. This selectivity simply has no scriptural support.
